After 12 successful years in the insurance and investment business, Craig Mather joined Alexander Hamilton Life Insurance Company in 1984 as a Field Vice President. Mather had responsibilities in Illinois and Souther Wisconsin, where he worked on the development of the second ever bank owned life insurance product offered. Mather supported the efforts of Bank Compensation Strategies; the then recognized leader, and a pioneer in the bank benefits business.
In
1994, after Alexander Hamilton was sold, Mather left to open a private
consulting practice, joining forces with the TMG Life Insurance Company
out of Fargo, ND. TMG was the first company to offer a BOLI product in
the US.
In
1998, Mather honed his skills with Bank Compensations Strategies (BCS), and
had responsibilities in Wisconsin and Northern Michigan. BCS became
Clarke Consulting and Mather continued to help executives in closely
held banks develop plans to “attract, retain, and reward” their key
employees and boards of directors.
In
2007, Mather joined forces with the Phoenix Company and consulted with
agents across the Midwest to support their corporate clients who needed
non-qualified benefits. Mather provided agents with the professional
input they required to create seamless plans to satisfy their customers.
Phoenix
Company closed their division in 2008, and Craig partnered with several
other recognized leaders in the non-qualified benefits arena, and was a
founding partner in Benefit RFP. Mather retired from Benefit RFP to
enjoy his family, farm, and car collecting hobby.
Mather has
recently come out of retirement to be a founding partner in a firm
which specializes in all aspects of the non-qualified benefits market, Innovative Compensation Strategies, Inc.
Aside from the knowledge and organizational skills he brings to the
table, Mather is best known for his ability to explain complicated plan
design and theory in a simple, understandable way. Mather, his partners,
and staff stand ready to help you, as a client, or agent, answer all
your non-qualified benefit questions as only ICS can.
